Sheila offers professional counselling and psychotherapy services to clients. Sheila conforms to the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (I.A.C.P.) Code of Professional Ethics. This ensures a safe and confidential environment for clients to explore internal struggles and the challenges that present themselves to us in life. Her aim is to support the client as they build self-worth, self-acceptance and self-awareness, while discovering their own inner resources, in making meaningful choices to lead a more fulfilling and satisfying life. Sheila uses a Humanistic Integrative approach, bringing together mind, body and spirit; this incorporates a number of widely accredited psychotherapeutic techniques. Allowing her to adapt the approach and style to the individual needs of the client. These psychotherapeutic approaches include: Psychodynamic and Psychoanalytic Therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Integrative Body Psychotherapy, Mindfulness, and Solution Focused Therapy, Sexuality, LGBT issues and Hakomi Body Psychotherapy which is a Mindfulness-based method. Sheila works with clients both short term (Counselling) and long term (Psychotherapy).
